
Flip has been involved in weight loss camping since 1976, and has literally grown up in camping. Flip was an executive director of the former Weight Watchers Camps. He spends his entire fall, winter and spring developing the Camp Pennbrook program to ensure that your daughter experiences a happy, slimming, and meaningful summer at camp. He is a long standing member of the American Camping Association. Flip received his B.B.A. from Hofstra University in Management/Marketing & Accounting.
Shira is one of the head counselors at Camp Pennbrook. She has been a Camp Pennbrook camper, counselor and group leader and has been going to camp here her entire life. Shira graduated from Lynn University in Florida and has a B.A. in communications. She has worked with children and young adults at the Hillel of Browser County and Palm Beach. Shira is a great motivator and stays in touch with the campers throughout the year.
Jill
Shaffer RD joined Camp Pennbrook this summer to facilitate our Rap
Sessions. Jill is a registered dietitian and nutrition therapist in
private practice in Pennington where she specializes in treating
children, teens, and adults with eating disorders, weight, and eating
problems. Her supportive, non-judgmental, and collaborative style of
counseling lends itself well in leading rap sessions at Camp Pennbrook.
Jill is a member of the American Dietetic Association as well as the
Weight Management and Behavioral Health Dietetic Practice Groups. She
is certified by the Institute for Health Solution as a provider in both
Shapedown Express and The Solution Method group training for weight and
stress management.
Judy has been with the Camp Pennbrook family since 2004. Working as the camp's fitness director, Judy is in charge of organizing our motivated and enthusiastic group fitness and aerobics staff. Judy received her Bachelor's Degree from Bucknell University, her Master's Degree from Wilkes University and is also Nationally Board Certified.
At camp, Judy teaches Kickboxing, Step aerobics, and total body training. She is also the camp's personal trainer. Judy lives in Florida where she teaches group fitness and personal training at LA Fitness and also created and teaches an elective Body Management course for the Broward County School Board. Her high energy and motivating aerobics classes are a huge part of the Camp Pennbrook experience!
Courtney serves as the camp's Food Adviser. She oversees the planning of our menus and recipes and conducts some of the camp rap sessions and one on one nutritional counseling sessions. During the winter, Courtney is always available for telephone consultation with parents and campers to answer their questions and offer encouragement and additional motivation.
Courtney is currently a Consulting Dietitian at Golden Ventures Clinical Services in Boston, and serves as a Bariatric Dietitian at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA. Courtney received her degree in Master of Science and Nutrition Science from the University of Buffalo and has been a member of the American Dietetics Association for many years. She looks forward to working with you at Camp Pennbrook this summer!
